Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse Job Description

Cynet Health is seeking a skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team. As a PICU Nurse, you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients in the intensive care unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including titrating medications such as propofol, fentanyl, and epinephrine.
  • Use Epic Systems Corporation's EpicCare Inpatient for electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient information and communicate with the healthcare team.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in pediatric critical care.
  • Float to general pediatrics for full assignments as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
  • Valid RN license required.
  • BLS and PALS certifications.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
