The Associate Program Director will be responsible for approximately 80% preceptorship and 20% clinical work, providing 1 day per week direct out-patient care and 4 days per week supervising/administering residents. Additional responsibilities include:
- Assisting in residency program practice management, overall residency operations, and resident oversight
- Assisting the Program Director with program recruitment, interviews, and selection of residents
- Maintaining ongoing clinical activity in Family Medicine, consistent with ACGME guidelines
- Assisting in teaching residents as directed through clinical and didactic work
- Clinically practicing physician with current board certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP)
- Eligible for unrestricted Active Medical Staff Privileges
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements for ensuring accreditation as an ACGME-accredited program in Family Medicine
- History of ongoing academic achievements in scholarly activity, inclusive of publications, the development of educational programs, and the process to conduct research, consistent with ACGME guidelines

Our FacilitySampson Regional Medical Center has served its community since 1950 and is now one of only a handful of independent, community-based hospitals remaining in North Carolina.
