Job Summary

Premier Global Links is seeking a skilled Die Repair Technician to repair, rebuild, and maintain casting and trim dies to meet original specifications. The ideal candidate will have a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work with precision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair, rebuild, and maintain casting and trim dies according to original specifications using appropriate machines and equipment.
  • Follow instructions and guidance provided by the Team Leader and/or Supervisor.
  • Transport, clean, disassemble, repair, and reassemble casting and trim dies using lift trucks, die cleaning equipment, and cranes as needed.
  • Build and replace segments, cores, details, and parts from blueprints using necessary tools and equipment.
  • Polish, grind, and draw die cavity surfaces as required.
  • Conduct on-machine repairs, including removing stuck castings, correcting dimensional issues, and changing cores and trim punches.
  • Perform welding duties both in the foundry and the Die Repair Department.
  • Troubleshoot production tooling issues and carry out necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including die work orders, pictorials, signoffs, and records as directed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Train new employees in the die repair process and proper safety protocols.
  • Perform any other duties as required to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the tool and die repair department.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in polishing, grinding, and drawing die cavity surfaces using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to build and replace segments, cores, details, and parts from blueprints.
  • Competence in performing welding duties in both the foundry and the Die Repair Department.
  • Experience in training new employees and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Education and Experience
  • Up to 2 years of relevant training or experience in die repair. If the minimum experience requirement is not met, 2 years of on-the-job training will be provided to meet this standard.
  • Must possess Tool & Die Repair Journeyman Papers.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Ability to perform highly skilled tasks and solve complex problems (Associates Degree, trade, or technical school certification, or journeyperson certificate).
  • A minimum of 2 years of training in die repair. If this requirement is not met, the candidate must complete 2 years of on-the-job training.
  • Must provide the last four digits of the candidate's Social Security Number.
