As a Registered Nurse at Orlando Health, you will be responsible for administering patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting. This role requires active treatment for an injury, episode of illness, a medical condition, or post-intervention with assessment.
Responsibilities- Assess patients' needs and develop/revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses.
- Evaluate patients' progress toward attaining expected outcomes.
- Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
- Function as a patient and family advocate.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
- Communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
- Serve as a role model for staff and support the hospital and nursing departments' goals and strategies.
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department.
- Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP required for Neonatal Intensive care Unit (NICU).
- Flexible scheduling with Team Nursing care delivery model.
- Supportive and responsive physician support including daily multidisciplinary rounds lead by the RN.
- Robust nursing education program including simulation, nurse residency, and virtual reality training.
- Partnered with Arnold Palmer Hospital Children to begin taking pediatric patients younger than 12 yrs old starting Oct 1st, 2024.
- Administrative and physician support available 24/7.
- Respiratory therapy to assist with RT care needs.
- Integral member of a multi-disciplinary team including PT, OT, SLP, Rec Therapy, physiatry, registered dieticians, internal medicine, neuropsychology, and discharge planning.
