Job Description
As an Acute Occupational Therapist at MUSC Health Black River Medical Center, you will be responsible for evaluating, administering, and directing the administration of therapeutic procedures utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as prescribed by a referring practitioner. You will establish goals of occupational therapy and reassess this patient's progress at regular intervals, supporting findings with appropriate documentation. Additionally, you will assess and treat speech and language disorders and impairments, conduct evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools, and develop treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. You will collaborate with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies and may direct support staff in assisting with treatment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in occupational therapy from an accredited school. New graduates are acceptable. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
