Job Description

The Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling and installing electrical systems on our specialized vehicles, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, as well as the ability to read and understand blueprints and diagrams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Vocational school training in basic electricity or equivalent experience required
  • Knowledge of automotive electrical component technology and wiring systems preferred
  • 2 years of experience in chassis wiring and programming desired
  • Demonstrated basic welding and mechanical ability
  • Ability to pass a preliminary weld test and complete AWS D1.1 Code certification within 60 days
  • Aptitude to use computer-based automotive diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work with engineering on a project basis
  • Knowledge of Altec's Quality Improvement Process
  • Ability to read and understand electrical-related blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to work with customers on writing unit specs and troubleshooting problems over the phone
  • Demonstrated ability to work under a team concept
  • Possess a good safety record
