About the Role

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, you will provide vital mental health services within a correctional facility. Your expertise in individual, couples, and family therapy will be instrumental in supporting incarcerated individuals as they navigate personal challenges and work towards rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand patients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to address substance use disorders and other mental health concerns.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including correctional staff, psychiatrists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions to promote healing, build coping skills, and foster a supportive environment.
  • Assist patients in developing life skills and connecting with community resources upon release.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress and treatment interventions.

Qualifications

  • Valid and active California Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.
  • Minimum of 12 consecutive months of experience providing similar services within the last three years.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in administering CBT for substance use disorders.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
