Position Title: School-Based Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathology Assistant to support our licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in delivering effective speech and language therapy services within an educational environment. This role is crucial in helping students overcome communication challenges and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in evaluating students with speech and language difficulties.
  • Implement therapy strategies and interventions as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Provide individual and small group therapy sessions to enhance students' communication skills.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate updates to the supervising SLP.
  • Help create educational materials and resources tailored for therapy sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with educators and school personnel to address students' communication needs in the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Current licensure or certification as an SLPA in North Carolina.
  • Experience in an educational or clinical setting with children is highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to function effectively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students.
