Job Summary

The Director of Purchasing will be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts. This role will play a key part in optimizing supply chain operations and maximizing cost efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement process for equipment, services, materials, and supplies to ensure that all purchases meet the organization's needs and budgetary goals.
  • Develop and communicate procurement strategic/business plans to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement effective purchasing and contract policies and procedures to streamline procurement activities.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to the procurement team to achieve departmental and individual goals.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the organization to understand procurement needs and requirements.
  • Oversee the negotiation, review, and management of contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Conduct thorough financial and administrative analyses to support purchasing decisions.
  • Identify and evaluate potential vendors/suppliers and build/maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, implementing best practices in procurement and contract management.
Requirements
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools
  • Deep understanding of supply chain management principles
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge of contract law and vendor management
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • At least 10 years of dedicated purchasing experience
  • Construction and/or Electrical Industry knowledge/experience preferred
Work Environment

This is a full-time position in an office environment. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, and bend.
