We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Analyst to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN. As a GIS Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients by providing geospatial data analysis and interpretation services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent data interpretation and maintain accurate data documentation.
- Create and modify GIS datasets, manage legacy GIS datasets, and develop GIS-based analyses to support various projects.
- Produce detailed solutions to prepare clear, complete, and accurate representations of spatial data using hardcopy and/or electronic media.
- Process data and graphics requests from project team members and anticipate information needs and presentation formats.
- Develop and maintain geospatial data on desktop, mobile, and cloud applications, ensuring data meets quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Pursuing or have a degree in GIS, geography, surveying, environmental studies, or a related field with demonstrated capabilities in GIS.
- Hands-on knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software, including ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS mobile apps.
- Strong understanding of geodatabases and geodatabase applications.
- Ability to work with vector and raster datasets.
- Experience using ArcGIS Online, shapefiles, and geodatabases.
- Ability to use and edit shapefiles and geodatabases.
- Experience working with different coordinate systems, map projections, and datums.
- Familiarity with standard cartographic methods, theories, and principles.
- Ability to independently manage multiple assignments and work with limited direct supervision.
- Experience using Python, Arcade, ModelBuilder, or another common GIS scripting language.
- Previous work in consulting engineers and/or surveyors.
- Experience using AutoCAD and DWG files.
- Familiarity with GPS data collection and data management.
- Familiarity with LiDAR datasets and usage.
- Experience using Google Earth and KMZ files.
