Job Description:

As an MRI Technologist at Ascension, you will be responsible for operating a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat various pathologies. You will prepare and position patients, select anatomic and technical parameters accurately, and produce cross-sectional images of the body. Your duties will also include performing patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination, as well as entering and monitoring patient data.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a scanner to obtain high-quality images used to diagnose and treat various pathologies
  • Prepare and position patients accurately
  • Select anatomic and technical parameters to produce high-quality images
  • Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination
  • Enter and monitor patient data
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history)
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and any other areas in the department

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date
  • One or more of the following certifications: Cardiographic Tech, Nuclear Medical Tech, Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Medical Sonographer, or Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
