Position Summary

The Vault Cashier plays a pivotal role in the casino's financial operations, acting as the primary custodian of gaming funds. This position entails overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions related to both employees and the casino floor, while maintaining the security and integrity of vault assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Execute financial transactions for employees and the casino floor, including bank issuances, returns, tip drops, and event drops, adhering to established protocols.
  2. Facilitate guest financial transactions such as ticket and voucher redemptions, check cashing, and chip sales, as required by business needs.
  3. Verify daily gaming proceeds and accept accountability for the drop received from Soft Count, following prescribed procedures.
  4. Ensure the security and accurate balancing of cash and cash equivalents during the shift, handling large sums responsibly.
  5. Maintain an orderly workstation, ensuring that all shift-end documentation is organized, totaled, and balanced according to procedures.
  6. Comply with all regulatory standards, including those set by NIGC, SFNGC, IRS, and State Compact related to Cage/Vault operations.
  7. Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive demeanor, adhering to company policies regarding professional conduct.
  8. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
  • Supervise daily operations of the Casino Cages and Vault during the assigned shift, ensuring adherence to procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Assess business needs and allocate staff resources accordingly, providing input for effective scheduling.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and mentor staff to enhance their skills in technical areas and customer service.
  • Oversee end-of-shift cashier closeouts, compiling and verifying necessary reports and documentation, and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Report suspicious activities to management and collaborate with Security and Surveillance for investigations as needed.
  • Verify significant transactions and ensure proper documentation is maintained for all unusual activities.
  • Monitor staff performance to maintain high levels of customer service and assist in resolving guest and employee disputes professionally.
  • Carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

Supervisory Duties:
  1. Manage scheduling, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Cage Manager.
  2. Recommend performance standards and policy changes, as well as participate in hiring and termination processes.
  3. This role may involve additional supervisory responsibilities as directed by Executive Management.
Required Skills:
  1. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  2. Proficiency in operating computers, printers, and card machines is required.
  3. Prior supervisory experience in a financial setting is preferred.
Education and Experience:
  1. A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  2. Experience in cash handling is preferred.
  3. Demonstrated ability to accurately work with numbers and cash is necessary.
Language Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions in various formats and adapt to changes and unexpected situations.

Other Skills:
Basic analytical skills and proficiency in computer applications are required, along with strong interpersonal skills.
