Job Summary

The Legal Assistant works closely with their attorney to handle cases in the pre-litigation phase while maintaining open communication with clients, providers, and internal teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Research and locate all possible defendants and insurance coverage.
  • Request and follow up on gathering supporting documents, including police reports, 911 calls, insurance policies, medical records, bills, and liens.
  • Review, upload, and process daily correspondence received via email, fax, or through our paperless software.
  • Schedule and maintain the attorney's calendar.
  • Attend client meetings with the attorney.
  • Ensure cases are updated with all information, including treatment details, record gathering, insurance verification, and billing purposes.
  • Prepare demands and closing statements.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of office experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong multitasking skills, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Able to work at a fast pace with a heavy case volume (65-75 cases).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
