Occupational Therapist

UPMC is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute.
Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.
Responsibilities:- Keep detailed records for all occupational therapy services, including initial assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.
- Biweekly co-signing of occupational therapy assistant's documentation.
- Communicate patient updates to the referring physician and healthcare team.
- Record charges and statistics to reflect services provided to patients accurately.
- Schedule patients to meet or exceed productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
- Offer verbal or written home instructions to patients and families when needed.
- Supervise clinical internships for students from various universities as part of the organization's educational program.
- Maintain professional licensure by engaging in ongoing education and professional development.
- Assess, reassess, and treat occupational therapy patients, and supervise assistants in providing care to a diverse age range.
- Develop and adjust treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient responses.
- Rotate through different treatment areas as required.
- Participate in staff meetings and educational in-services actively.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Active license in practicing state required.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
