About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer at UnitedHealth Group, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that improve health outcomes for millions of people worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop innovative software solutions that meet the needs of our business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate business goals, identify problems, and propose solutions.
  • Ensure team follows best practices and improves application performance.
  • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum meetings and help drive smooth progress on delivering new functionality.
  • Support the development team by validating that the design and implementation of their app is in line with requirements, solution design, guidelines, and direction/roadmap.
  • Apply repeatable design patterns, best practices, and development frameworks and techniques.
  • Plan and strategize with other key leaders, including resource, technology, and product-services planning.
  • Focus on execution of product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Drive some of the software engineering phases, including requirements analysis, architecture, and application design.
  • Triage production support issues post-deployment and drive solutions as required.
  • Ensure team is building reusable components, frameworks, and libraries that can be leveraged across departments.
  • Work closely with architecture groups and drive solutions.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Research, identify, and recommend industry best practices for solving business problems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher)
  • 3+ years of experience in the software engineering profession across entire SDLC
  • 3+ years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, React JS, Redux, Node JS, JavaScript, HTML, and Microservices
  • 3+ years of experience consuming REST Applications
  • 3+ years of experience delivering software using an Agile/Scrum methodology
  • 3+ years of experience with Google Web Optimization guidelines, Web Performance best practices, and search engine optimization
  • 3+ years of experience and good understanding of web application networking and communication flows
  • 3+ years of experience in Demonstrated success designing and building high-quality, scalable commercial software applications
  • 3+ years of experience in Front End – ReactJS, TypeScript, Nodejs, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery
  • 3+ years of experience in Middleware – Webservices – Java, Microservices, Springboot, Red Hat JBoss EAP, Tomcat
  • 3+ years of experience in Back End – SQLServer/Oracle/MySQL
  • 3+ years of Web Security experience
