The Safety Representative Job

This role reinforces the critical importance of safety across all employee levels by implementing and upholding our safety protocols.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • No direct reports are assigned to this role.
Responsibilities and Key Activities

This role entails several key responsibilities, including conducting orientation activities for new hires, investigating incidents and injuries, enforcing safety standards, and establishing relationships with local safety agencies and insurance carriers.

  1. Conducts orientation activities such as completing and checking paperwork on new hires, validating required experience and licensure, and collecting I-9 documentation.
  2. Investigates incidents, injuries, damage to property, or other safety-related concerns, including completing incident reports, OSHA-required documentation, and other client reports.
  3. Enforces safety standards, conducts safety audits, participates in client safety meetings or conference calls, and conveys information from specific clients about their specific safety requirements on a specific job site or client's work.
  4. Establishes and maintains relationships with local safety agencies and insurance carriers to foster good communication between the company and external influences on safety.
  5. Cross-trains in all facets of the Safety Division, preparing to fill in for anyone absent and grow in responsibility and scope over time.
Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, preferably, or equivalent experience, and hold relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, OSHA 500, OSHA 10&20 T&D, and CUSP, CSP.

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred or equivalent experience.
  • OSHA certifications beneficial, i.e., OSHA 30, OSHA 500, OSHA 10&20 T&D.
  • Certification as CUSP, CSP preferred.
