We are seeking a dedicated NICU Nursing Specialist to join our team at Akron Children's Hospital.

About the Role:

The Staff Nurse provides high-quality, family-centered care to individuals and groups of patients within the scope of their practice. This role requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs leadership and professional duties, including prioritizing tasks for timely completion and managing responsibilities effectively.
  • Delivers patient-centered care, ensuring the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients are met.
  • Participates in quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Stays up-to-date with evidence-based practices to provide optimal care.
  • Collaborates with healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and effective teamwork.
  • Adapts to changing situations and priorities, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Maintains current certifications and licensures required for this role.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
  • Certification: Licensed to practice professional nursing in Ohio is required.
  • Current Health Care Provider BLS training from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on assigned department or unit.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
