Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Driver Manager to oversee the activities of our long-haul drivers while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Export and Import Departments to secure load assignments for drivers. Ensure the efficient coordination of load pickups and deliveries, prioritizing live loads, direct deliveries, and Last Free Day (LFD) containers in accordance with hours-of-service regulations.
  • Verify load completion and promptly update dispatch-related databases and spreadsheets to avoid delays in container deliveries, ensuring all necessary documents are scanned in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and track the positions of drivers, maintaining awareness of each assigned driver's location and status. Provide support and dispatch instructions to ensure each driver meets an average of 2.75 turns (approximately 2131 miles) per week, promoting equitable distribution of loads.
  • Address driver concerns and issues, documenting complaints, service failures, and feedback in the driver profile database for future reference.
  • Participate in Monthly Driver Manager meetings and Quarterly Driver Safety meetings to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM or as scheduled.

Compensation: $43,888 (Annualized) plus potential monthly bonuses.

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate computer skills required for navigating and updating the Truckmate database and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) regarding hours of service.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
