Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Oak Orchard Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and therapeutic measures as directed by and in assistance to the medical provider staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for provider visits, including height/weight, vitals, medication reconciliation, and verification of allergies and social history.
  • Follow health maintenance and chronic care protocols, and enter relevant information into the patient's chart.
  • Set up rooms and prepare patients for procedures and examinations, and chaperone visits as needed.
  • Perform pre-visit planning, utilizing software tools and chart review to anticipate health maintenance, preventive, and chronic care needs of each day's scheduled patients.
  • Collaborate with providers, care managers, and other care team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Assist providers in responding to patient needs related to medications, lab results, procedures, and preventative/health maintenance measures.
  • Collect and label lab specimens, and provide age and patient-appropriate screenings.
  • Monitor and maintain exam room supplies, and complete medical forms, record transfers, and lab requisitions as required.
  • Adhere to all organizational infection control policies and procedures, and maintain accurate nursing notes in patient records.
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts, and preload new patient clinical chart information/history.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
  • One year of experience in a medical office or related environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with working proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
