Canton Public Schools is seeking a skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in promoting equity, a sense of belonging, and fostering academic and personal success for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Administer speech and language assessments to determine a student's level of functioning relative to their age and educational placement.
- Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) and 504 Accommodation Plans to meet the unique needs of students with special needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to provide recommendations for class accommodations, modifications, and referrals.
- Monitor and document progress towards IEP goals, 504 Plans, and intervention plans.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning in the least restrictive environment.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field.
- Current certification or licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist or Speech Language Pathology Assistant.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
