Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-Hour Nights, two weekend shifts per pay period

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 2 years

License: RN License

Certifications: ACLS, BLS

Must-Have: Experience with IABP, CRRT, Fresh OHS from the OR; Ability to titrate drips

Job Description:

  • Work in a unit with 12 beds, managing patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 based on acuity.
  • Handle common diagnoses such as AMI, CAD, PVD.
  • Manage common titratable and set rate drips including Dexmedetomidine, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Levophed, Insulin, and Cardene.
  • Perform duties as both a Charge Nurse and collaborate with House Supervisors.
  • Occasionally work with nurse aides, maintaining effective patient care.
  • Collaborate with in-house hospitalists and utilize department-specific respiratory therapists (RT).
  • Use and manage equipment such as vents, BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and HiFlow.
  • Read telemetry strips as part of monitoring patient status.
  • Follow scheduling and weekend requirements based on unit needs and nurse leadership discretion.
  • Fulfill holiday and on-call/standby requirements as per the contract.
  • Float as needed to support MS/Tele/PCU/ICU departments at both campuses.
  • Adhere to the dress code, wearing Navy Blue scrubs.
  • Participate in unit-specific orientation and demonstrate desired skills, including Impella experience.
  • Use Cerner EMR for charting and documentation.
  • Pass a dysrhythmia exam as a condition of contract signing.
  • Follow the cancellation policy of 3 shifts per contract.
