Job Summary

RTP Company is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, installation, and preventative electrical maintenance of plastic production machinery and facility electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Minimize Equipment Downtime: Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime and lost production capabilities.
  • Electrical Maintenance: Troubleshoot machinery, dismantle equipment, and adjust, replace, or repair defective parts.
  • Operate Forklift: Safely operate a forklift when needed to transport equipment and materials.
  • Research and Procurement: Perform necessary research of supplies, tools, and parts to complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Inventory Management: Help maintain an inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Record Keeping: Assist with the upkeep of records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, etc.
  • Quality and Safety: Support the RTP quality policy and customer satisfaction mission by following safety and health guidelines when performing all duties.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Electrical Maintenance Experience: Former electrical maintenance experience is required.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Forklift Experience: Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Mechanical Skills: Possess mechanical skills and ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Color Vision: Capability to accurately interpret colors.
  • Decision Making: Ability to make decisions within the scope of the position.
  • Positive Attitude: Must have a positive attitude and excellent attendance.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and ability to work well with others.
  • Safety Awareness: Safety awareness and ability to read, write, and speak English.
Education and Experience
  • Electrical or Technical Degree: A two-year electrical or similar technical degree is preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally the employee is required to sit.
  • Lifting and Moving: Must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and handle (with mechanical equipment) weights exceeding 250 pounds.
  • Visual Requirements: Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Safety Equipment: Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, respirators, face shield, hearing protection, Tyvek suit, gloves, etc.
  • Exposure to Hazards: Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level may be possible. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents.
