We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist I to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiographic procedures, including fluoroscopy and radiography, to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities- Position patients, adjust equipment, and secure them for procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Determine appropriate radiographic techniques and positions to obtain optimal images.
- Operate fluoroscopic and radiographic equipment, including portable units, to capture high-quality images.
- Assist radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures, including advanced and specialty exams.
- Perform quality control activities, including checking film quality and ensuring accurate image labeling.
- Coordinate patient flow, communicate with staff radiologists, and respond to inquiries to ensure timely completion of exams.
- Prepare radiographic and fluoroscopic rooms for procedures, maintain equipment, and supplies as required.
- Report deficient inventory of supplies and linen to the Radiology Coordinator.
- Prepare mixtures and/or contrast as necessary following prescribed formulas.
- Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
- 1 year of experience as a General Radiographer.
- Competent in performing complex c-arm cases, fluoroscopy cases.
- IEMA accreditation in medical radiation technology.
- ARRT registered.
- CPR certified.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints, deal with extremely ill patients, and lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. Patient handling equipment is expected to be used with at least one other associate when available.
