Job Summary

Southern Nazarene University seeks a highly qualified individual to serve as a Dissertation Chair for our Doctor of Education degree in Administration and Leadership program. The successful candidate will play a vital role in guiding learners through the dissertation process, providing expert guidance and support to ensure their success.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Dissertation Directors to understand dissertation expectations and provide support to learners
• Assist learners in developing the structural components of a dissertation, including topic, problem statement, theoretical framework, purpose statement, research questions, research method, and research design
• Participate in and lead Dissertation Proposal and Dissertation Defense Hearings with learners
• Provide emotional and spiritual support to learners throughout the process

Qualifications

• Terminal Degree
• Minimum of two years of related work experience in the advisees research interest
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Typing and spelling competency
• Experience with using Google products, especially Google Documents
• Knowledge of APA 7th Edition

Supervision Received

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
