Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at DHR Health. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the screening and reporting of gynecological cytology cases, identifying and referring abnormal cases to the pathologist. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining accurate quality control and quality assurance records, as well as managing the daily operations of the cytology laboratory.

Responsibilities
  • Screen and report negative gynecological cytology cases
  • Identify and refer abnormal cases to the pathologist
  • Maintain accurate quality control and quality assurance records
  • Manage daily operations of the cytology laboratory
  • Participate in training and orientation of new employees
  • Adhere to and participate in quality control procedures and documents accordingly
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of cytotechnology or certified by certification agency approved by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Licensure / Registered - CT (ASCP) American Society for Clinical Pathology (preferred)
  • At least three years of experience in a clinical lab setting (preferred)
Working Conditions

The individual spends over 95% of their time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III. Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
