About This Position

The City of Phoenix is seeking a Recreation Programmer to provide recreational programming or facility coordination services for recreation programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recreation, leisure studies, or a related field, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities include planning, organizing, scheduling, coordinating, and implementing recreational activities, events, and classes based on the recreational needs of the community. The Recreation Programmer will also be responsible for supervising part-time recreation employees and volunteers, and preparing and promoting recreational activities for assigned sites.

The successful candidate will have experience in automated registration/reservation systems, evaluating recreation programs, financial management, and marketing programs. They will also be able to communicate effectively with the public and provide excellent customer service.

Salary
Pay Range: $34.25 per hour. Hiring Range: $26.83 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in recreation, leisure studies, or a related field. One year of recreation experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automated registration/reservation systems, evaluating recreation programs, financial management, and marketing programs. Ability to communicate effectively with the public and provide excellent customer service.
