Reports To: Plant Manager

Job Purpose: Responsible for the collection and preparation of paper waste for recycling processes.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Sort and load paper waste into the baling equipment from designated rolling containers.
  2. Utilize both automatic and manual baling machines in accordance with established operational guidelines.
  3. Operate industrial forklifts for the transportation of scrap paper containers and finished bales.
  4. Monitor scales to confirm the weight of each bale produced.
  5. Identify, document, and categorize specific material grades and weights for each bale.
  6. Efficiently load baled products, including recyclable corrugated materials, onto appropriate trailers for shipping.
  7. Ensure trucks are loaded correctly while adhering to weight limitations.
  8. Promptly inform the Accounting Assistant when a salvage truck is ready for pick-up.
  9. Notify a supervisor immediately when maintenance or repairs are required for baling machines.
  10. Manage waste disposal effectively.
  11. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Baler Room, baling machines, and designated recycling storage areas throughout the facility.
  12. Be prepared to stand for extended periods, work at a rapid pace, operate a forklift, and handle large containers and bales, with the possibility of overtime.
  13. Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management as needed.
  14. Perform all responsibilities in compliance with company safety protocols and operational procedures.
