Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sonographer to join our team at Bayfront Health. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Radiologists to perform diagnostic sonographic exams.
  • Demonstrate professional judgment in service delivery and maintain a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
  • Deliver appropriate care, recognize patient conditions, and ensure successful completion of procedures.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adhere to Bayfront Health's mission statement and commitment to excellence standards.
  • Assess the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provide instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient's clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Position patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Administer medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
  • Apply appropriate standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assist in supervising student sonographers.
  • Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Bayfront Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Bayfront Health policies, procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements.
  • Follow established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Maintain well-stocked and organized work areas.
  • Work at any facility as required by operational needs or organizational demands.
  • Provide patient transport.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
