About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Post-Surgical Care Specialist to join our team at an academic medical center in Jackson, TN.

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will provide immediate post-operative care to a variety of surgical patients, monitoring vital signs and managing symptoms of anesthesia. They will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient transition from the operating room to discharge home.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality post-operative care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and managing symptoms of anesthesia
  • Administer prescribed medications and implement treatment plans as directed by medical staff
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure effective patient care and smooth transitions
  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, including pain management and potential complications
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
  • 1 year experience in a PACU, ICU, or similar high-acuity setting preferred
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Proficient in electronic medical record systems

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this role is $48,920 to $94,687, depending on experience and qualifications.
