Medical Technologist with Expertise in IV Starts and Blood Draw

About the Role:
As a highly skilled Sr Interventional Tech IV Blood/IV Starts, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care at Rush University Medical Center. Located in Chicago, IL, this dynamic team seeks an individual with expertise in IV starts and blood draw to join their ranks.
Your Responsibilities:
In this critical position, you will assist patients in preparing for procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse. You will obtain patient data, document accurately, and report changes in patient condition promptly. Your attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Obtaining patient data and documenting it accurately in the medical record
- Assisting patients in preparing for procedures as needed
- Reporting changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse
- Correctly labeling and processing specimens for laboratory analysis
- Performing EKGs and assisting with admission, discharge, and transport as directed
- Obtaining blood products, supplies, and equipment as necessary
- Rounding assigned areas regularly to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
- Providing assistance to staff during procedures and responding to pick-up and delivery requests
- Maintaining a safe work environment by keeping patient rooms and unit orderly
Requirements:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and prior formal clinical training. A successful completion of the institutional screening examination is also required. Additionally, you should demonstrate proficiency in the use of Epic and excellent communication and customer service skills.
