Position Title: COMSEC Operations Supervisor

The Air Force (AF) Special Access Program (SAP) Security Support Services (SSS) provides critical oversight to enhance National Security Objectives that support AF SAP interests through proactive and integrated security operations, processes, and management. This role offers multidisciplinary security support, including specialized analytical and program protection services, while remaining adaptable to evolving SAP security challenges.

The primary responsibility of the COMSEC Operations Supervisor is to operate within Special Access Programs (SAPs) that support Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, including HQ Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). This position entails providing daily support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.

Location: Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC

Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI, SAP Information eligible, consent for Counterintelligence polygraph

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inventories and inspections of secure equipment (e.g., secure telephones and encryption devices) and classified keying materials, along with other COMSEC-related oversight functions.
  • Oversee the installation of secure telephone equipment (STE) and coordinate the delivery of encryption devices and keying materials to designated Information Technology (IT) specialists managing classified networks.
  • Manage a Top Secret inventory and document control program to ensure accountability for COMSEC equipment and materials.
  • Perform inventories in accordance with agency policies and report any discrepancies to the government customer.
  • Transport classified information and provide receipts for classified materials.
  • Ensure compliance with Automated Information Systems Security requirements related to COMSEC responsibilities.
  • Verify that proper physical security accreditation has been issued by designated Program Security Officers for supported facilities.
  • Provide training to personnel on COMSEC procedures and the operation of related equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of COMSEC accountability and knowledge of procedures for issuing and receiving COMSEC equipment and materials, including inventory and mailing.
  • Familiarity with COMSEC requirements and procedures, including the acquisition, maintenance, operation, and disposition of COMSEC equipment.
  • Ability to perform regular moderate lifting.
  • Prior active duty in the U.S. Air Force is advantageous.
