Job Summary

Summit Academy, a leading provider of educational services for court-adjudicated youth, is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting good health, treating minor medical problems, responding to medical emergencies, providing first aid, administering medications, and ensuring that all medical needs of students are addressed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer physician-prescribed medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and maintain adequate inventory of medications and medical supplies, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to all medical emergencies, providing first aid and emergency assistance as needed, while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and medical history on each student, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Promote good health habits, hygiene, and nutrition for all students, providing education and support to foster a healthy and well-rounded environment.
  • Evaluate and maintain the quality of medical care for students, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, sharing pertinent student-related medical information while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
