Job Summary:

The Material Handler II - Production Support role at Siffron is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production department. This involves checking in and delivering materials, posting and putting away components and finished goods, and staging completed jobs in the CLE holding area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post and put away components and finished goods for Production, reporting shortages to the Material Handler Lead.
  • Weigh and wrap skids or small cartons, delivering them to the CLE holding area.
  • Assist the production floor with locating and placing material, and provide backup and assistance as needed.
  • Operate a tow motor.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Perform housekeeping duties, including cardboard replenishment.
  • Check in material for Production.

Picking Function:

  • Utilize an RF Scanning device to scan item location and item number bar codes to confirm items picked for Production orders.
  • Apply production labels to cartons and deliver them to the appropriate department within Production.
  • Palletize cartons and shrink wrap pallets in preparation for shipment.
  • Read, understand, and follow instructions on a pick ticket.
  • Operate an Order Selector, Reach Truck, Fork Truck, or Turret Truck, depending on assigned duties.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of pallet locations, including straightening and organizing cartons, removing empty pallets, shrink wrap, and cardboard, closing open cartons, and ensuring all items are properly labeled and clean.
  • Set and use a scale to count components.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance Measures:

  • Posting accuracy.
  • Attendance and punctuality record.
  • Performance when using Navision.
  • Timeliness of product delivered to and removed from the Production Department.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Accuracy of paperwork and system entries pertaining to production material.
  • Average lines picked per day.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Regular attendance is expected and required.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma.
  • Will train.

Skills (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other):

  • Tow motor experience.
  • Computer skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform well under pressure.
  • High energy level.
  • Able to work daily overtime and weekend overtime when required.
  • Willingness and ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to solve problems expeditiously and economically.
