Position: Youth Engagement Recruitment Specialist

The Possible Zone (TPZ), a nonprofit organization, is in search of a dedicated Youth Engagement Recruitment Specialist to assist in attracting high school students to our expanding programs. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about bridging the opportunity gap and possess a proven history of working with high school students, as well as experience in recruitment, customer relations, and public speaking.


ROLE SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Director of Recruitment & Enrollment (Youth). The primary responsibility is to guide students through the entire recruitment and enrollment journey. This encompasses sourcing, recruiting, providing application assistance, and delivering exceptional customer service until students commence their programming. Our new Innovation Center is a hub for our growing initiatives aimed at reaching more high school students in the Boston area, and this role is vital to our recruitment success.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment (40%):

  1. Proactively engage students from targeted schools and community organizations by organizing information sessions, recruitment events, and presentations, including some evenings and weekends.
  2. Monitor progress towards recruitment and enrollment objectives each term.
  3. Exhibit confidence and presence while collaborating with partners to cultivate mutually beneficial relationships.
  4. Deliver presentations to diverse groups using compelling and tailored messaging that combines data with storytelling.
  5. Utilize existing recruitment systems to enroll students and ensure completion of guardian/family consent forms.
  6. Collaborate with consultants to ensure recruitment and enrollment systems operate efficiently and effectively.
  7. Identify specific events to participate in for targeted youth recruitment.
  8. Plan and execute events at TPZ's Innovation Center to engage students, families, and school leaders, including guided tours as necessary.
  9. In partnership with the Program Team, conduct introductory events at the Innovation Center to identify and recruit students for after-school programs.

Enrollment (40%):
  1. Serve as the primary customer service representative for students and families, maintaining ongoing communication via phone and email to support the enrollment process.
  2. Input relevant data to track students throughout the recruitment and enrollment phases.
  3. Manage the enrollment process, including documentation of student information and guardian/family consent forms.
  4. Collaborate with the Program Team to ensure student roster requirements are met before the program begins.
  5. Work with the Operations Team to prepare for students' arrival at the Innovation Center.

General Duties (20%):
  1. Participate in all staff meetings, departmental meetings, and other collaborative teams as required.
  2. Engage in TPZ classes to gain insights into the program that can enhance recruitment efforts.
  3. Assist in the development of promotional materials to support recruitment initiatives across various audiences.
  4. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
● Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in recruitment, admissions, or enrollment.
● Experience working directly with diverse youth and young adults in the Boston area.
● Flexibility in scheduling, as some evening and weekend events are required.
● Willingness to travel to various schools and partner sites.
● Strong community outreach and public speaking skills.
● Ability to connect authentically with individuals quickly.
● Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and social media platforms.
● Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000, based on experience.

TPZ offers eligible employees a comprehensive health and insurance package, covering 80% of premiums for Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, and 100% for Basic Life, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability. Employees also benefit from a commuting stipend, 401(k) contributions, paid parental leave, an average of 20 paid holidays, up to 25 days of paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
