Job Title: Registered Nurse - Internal Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Internal Medicine team at one of our facilities in Nassau County. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants on the Care Team
  • Assist with applicant screening, selection, training, and performance evaluations
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and orders
  • Plan, articulate, and coordinate care and interventions
  • Review patient charts for missing labs, reports, and open orders and reviews as part of care team huddles
  • Prepare equipment and aid the Physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients
  • Verify chief complaint and take vital signs as requested
  • Review the Electronic Health Record active medication list with patients
  • Coordinate outpatient work-up and treatment plans when patient situation requires it
  • Contact patients with test results and provide recommendations on cases per Physician determination and/or standards of care
  • Triage urgent same day or double booked appointment requests
  • Document progress notes in electronic health record within 24 hours
  • Manage in-basket requests and respond to all requests in a timely manner
Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of Nursing experience in an Ambulatory and/or Hospital setting
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of common Safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to Infection Control, Environmental Safety, and Patient Confidentiality
  • Knowledge of Medical Chart Reporting
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Cardiology background
