About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Assistant to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Dietary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest quality food service experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with food preparation, presentation, and service, ensuring that all food meets quality and presentation standards.
  • Interact with patients, families, and staff in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any concerns or complaints in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Operate and maintain food service equipment, including dish machines and refrigerators, ensuring proper cleaning and storage procedures are followed.
  • Document temperatures and equipment malfunctions, reporting any issues to management.
  • Collaborate with the food service team to deliver high-quality food and service to patients and customers.
Requirements
  • Valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from the local health department or equivalent certification.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, push fully loaded tray carts, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
