Job Summary

As a Company Driver for Dollar General Corporation, you will be responsible for delivering freight between our Distribution Centers, stores, and vendors in a safe and efficient manner. This role requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport Freight: Safely transport store-delivery freight, store returns, and backhauls over-the-road in a timely manner, adhering to all Dollar General policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Unload and Reload Freight: Unload and reload freight and rolltainers at each delivery in a safe and efficient manner, including rolling rolltainers off the trailer onto a lift gate and placing them into the backroom of the store.
  • Provide Customer Service: Provide professional customer service to all parties, including store teams, backhaul vendors, and distribution employees.
  • Complete Paperwork: Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Valid Class A CDL: Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • DOT Knowledge: Knowledge of all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to squat, crouch, and reach as needed to handle freight, enter and exit the vehicle's cab numerous times each day, and push and pull rolltainers weighing between 200 pounds.
