Position Overview:
Talascend is seeking a skilled Assembler for a contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize a microscope to ensure accurate part placement and orientation.
- Manually align components prior to soldering.
- Conduct post re-flow inspections and perform necessary touch-ups.

Qualifications:
- Proficient in identifying and correcting solder defects, including poor wetted joints, solder voids, shorts, and misaligned components.
- Familiarity with Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to distinguish between false calls and actual issues.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions for standard SMT components.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, with potential overtime requirements.
- Must be able to maintain focus on detailed tasks for extended periods.
- Experience with rework equipment such as hot air pencils and BGA removal tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of soldering and jumper wire application on redesign boards is a plus.
- IPC-610 Certification (active or expired) is required.
- IPC J-STD-001 Certification (active or expired) is required.
