Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse I to join our team at Rhode Island Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will provide direct patient care, evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, and identify opportunities for improvement. You will also collaborate with the healthcare team, patient family, and community services regarding patient care outcome/discharge planning.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. If you are a motivated and compassionate individual who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team, patient family, and community services
  • Assess and provide appropriate teaching based on patient and family needs
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research activities

Requirements:

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement
  • Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred
  • Current NIHSS Certification within 3 months of hire and 8 hours of continuing stroke education required annually
