Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care under the direction of a physical therapist, ensuring that treatment plans are implemented and documented accurately.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of patient treatment plans, working closely with the physical therapist and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with maintenance of patient charges and administrative support, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with the physical therapist and other team members to enhance interdisciplinary team dynamics and promote a positive work environment.
- Participate in patient care conferences and contribute to the development of treatment plans that meet the individual needs of each patient.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that our therapy department remains at the forefront of best practices.
- Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant Registration/State Licensure as required.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience in geriatric rehabilitation preferred.
- Ability to work with all types and levels of patients, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Physical Therapist Assistant will spend approximately 60-80% of their time bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching while working with physical therapy patients. They will also spend approximately 60-80% of their time walking/standing. For support activities, the Physical Therapist Assistant may spend approximately 10-20% of their time sitting at a desk or terminal entering data.
