We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at GenCare Solutions. As a Pediatric LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients in a pediatric care setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in carrying out rehabilitation programming and activities for patients, including the development of social skills and daily living skills.
- Provide personal care services to patients, including oral hygiene, bathing, and hair care as needed, nail care, diapering, and dressing.
- Provide bed care to patients, repositioning, ambulating, and assisting with elimination needs. Moving to and from wheelchairs, etc.
- Administer medications to patients orally, intra-, or via feeding tube subcutaneously.
- Monitor effects of medications and record medication given and patients' reactions.
- Observe and monitor the movement and activities of patients in the pediatric care setting.
- Assist/review MAR monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Experience in a pediatric care setting, preferably with medically complex patients.
- Valid RN as issued by the Florida Board of Nursing.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Must be able to pass a Level II background check.
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional time management and attention to detail.
- Prompt documentation and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of Registered nursing techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care.
- Experience with tube feeding, tracheostomy, wound care, neurological disorders, oxygen dependence, and IV therapy.
- Experience with premature birth, post-discharge care, chronic lung disease care, feeding - suck/swallow, insulin-dependent diabetes, failure to thrive - poor weight gain, immune deficiencies, renal failure, spina bifida, pre/post organ transplant care, genetic disorders, rare disorders, postsurgical long/short-term care, and colostomy/ileostomy care.
