Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team at Intermountain Medical Center. As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician to identify abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and schedule exams, coordinating with medical staff, physician offices, other staff, and patients.
  • Prepare for exams by following patient identification processes, educating patients and families on procedures, and transporting patients.
  • Perform ultrasound exams consistently with related protocols and in a timely manner, using equipment appropriately, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and achieving quality outcomes.
  • Document exam results and other necessary information accurately and charge for exams and supplies.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas, stocking supplies and following channels to coordinate repair or supply needs.
  • Support team and quality improvement processes and initiatives.
  • Participate in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge.
  • Provide education for other staff members, fellows, and students as appropriate.
Requirements
  • ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac sonography or vascular sonography.
  • Successfully completed one vascular or echo registry (adult, pediatric, fetal) pertinent to the department.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Work Environment

This position requires frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors, requiring the ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

The job requires manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, as well as the ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.

This position is located at Intermountain Medical Center, Lutheran Medical Center, St Joseph Hospital, and St Vincent Hospital in Murray, Utah, with a scheduled weekly hours of 40.

The hourly range for this position is $55.83 in Utah, $58.35 in Colorado, and $55.02 in Montana, with actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
