Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at a reputable Nursing Facility in Toms River, NJ.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care, adhering to established plans of care, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist.
  • Deliver rehab services efficiently, adhering to department and patient schedules, and timely documentation of services.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with patient needs and capabilities.
  • Assist physical therapists during tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
  • Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in physical therapy techniques under the supervision of the physical therapist.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  • Clean, maintain, and report the need for equipment repair as necessary.
Patient-Centered Care:

The ideal candidate will prioritize patient service, ensuring that patients and families receive exceptional care in a compassionate atmosphere that recognizes individual needs and rights.

  • Implement individualized treatment plans as established by the primary physical therapist.
  • Provide physical therapy treatments, including airway clearance techniques, integumentary repair and protection, and use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities.
  • Organize and facilitate treatment groups in collaboration with the physical therapist.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Current NJ State Physical Therapist Assistant License.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in short-term and/or long-term rehab.
  • Must have 1 year experience in SNF.
  • Solid knowledge of the healthcare industry and related guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Experience in strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
