Pipe Installation Specialist

Dallas 1 Construction & Dev. is seeking a skilled Pipe Installation Specialist to join our team. This role involves assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.

• Lay storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Lead and initiate dewatering efforts
• Align pipes in pipeline sections
• Assist Excavator Operator in digging safely around existing utilities
• Direct Excavator Operator to pull subgrade and bedding stone to appropriate elevation
• Setup Pipe Grade laser per plans, specifications, and actual elevations to ensure gravity-fed pipe is installed correctly
• Pull out defective or misaligned pipes
• Inspect places where pipes are fitted together to ensure pipes are spaced out properly and according to specifications
• Grade trenches or culverts
• Seal joints
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods, transit levels, and pipe laser
• Cover pipes with dirt or other material
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

• Proven work experience as a pipe layer
• Detailed knowledge of construction and pipe laying techniques
• Knowledge of sewer systems, storm drains, and water mains
• Experience with machine-operated trenching tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and city maps
• Good communication skills
• Certification in pipelaying or one year of experience in the field
• Knowledge of pipelaying practices and commitment to safety

• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Must be able to work outdoors and withstand different weather elements
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, crawl, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and crouch

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
