At the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF), we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of both current and retired members of the entertainment industry through our various services. For over a century, MPTF has been committed to providing support through a range of offerings, including long-term care, behavioral health, and residential living.
Position Overview:
The *Recreation Therapist* role is a *full-time* non-exempt position that entails creating and implementing a diverse program of activities tailored to the interests and capabilities of MPTF residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize surveys and questionnaires to identify necessary programs.
- Assess the recreational needs of residents using appropriate documentation tools.
- Contribute to long-term planning for the Recreation Program and assist in formulating departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy and a California Therapeutic Recreation license (RTR) is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Recreational Therapist in a geriatric setting is required, with a focus on evaluating resident needs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Recreation Therapy field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and capability to operate in an automated environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other professionals.
