Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to join their team. As a key member of the Department of Labor & Industry, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, you will play a vital role in assisting Pennsylvanians with disabilities gain the skills necessary to live and work independently in their communities.
Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining referral sources, determining and coordinating the delivery of vocational rehabilitation services to customers, and working closely with individuals with disabilities to help them achieve their employment goals.
Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of vocational rehabilitation services and be able to apply this knowledge to assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining gainful employment. A master's degree in a related field, such as vocational rehabilitation, mental health, or special education, is highly desirable.
This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time may be available upon successful completion of the training period.
Applicants must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If unable to telework, the option to report to the headquarters office in Altoona will be available.
Required qualifications include successful completion of the commonwealth's Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern program, possession of an active Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certificate, or proof of approval to sit for the certification examination.
