Job Summary

This is a key leadership role within the Finance Department, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the controller team and business units assigned within. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, maintain the organization's financial health and compliance, and analyze and interpret trends and operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies, and profit opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and timely submission of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data and reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
  • Ensure financial reports comply with current accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Controller team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and the closing of accounting periods.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying up-to-date with existing and new legislation; advising management on needed actions.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and assess any changes necessary.
  • Monitor and manage financial risk, including credit, liquidity, and operational risk.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative, productive work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support career development of team members.
  • Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical plans.
  • Develop financial and tax strategies to optimize the company's financial performance.
  • Oversee the financial planning and budgeting process, working with various departments to prepare budgets and monitor progress.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and other financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CMA or CPA certification.
