Job Title: Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for delivering high-quality therapy services to students. As an OT, you will work closely with students, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized plans of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform student evaluations to identify rehabilitation needs and develop effective therapy plans.
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy services, including interventions and treatments, in accordance with physician orders.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to modify plans of care as needed and ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Assess student needs, plan, and evaluate care to meet goals of occupational therapy interventions.
  • Teach students, families, and caregivers new skills or retrain them in daily activities that have become difficult or unfamiliar due to illness or injury.
  • Establish equipment needs to facilitate independent functioning and instruct students and families on the use of adaptive equipment.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and state regulations.
  • Document services accurately and timely, in accordance with the plan of care.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
  • One year of prior professional occupational therapy experience preferred.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and other stakeholders.
