Linguist for National Security Projects

KACE is seeking a skilled Linguist to support national security projects. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in transcribing and analyzing sensitive material from Swahili to English.
About the Job
This position requires a high level of linguistic expertise, cultural knowledge, and analytical skills. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and decoding colloquialisms and slang terms, as well as extracting pertinent information and communicating it to law enforcement agents.
Key Responsibilities
- You will listen to oral intercepts and provide verbal and written synopses and transcripts.
- You will relate all pertinent information to the client.
- You will contribute to a master list of slang words and codes used by a particular group or organization.
- You will maintain a voice library for the duration of the project.
Requirements and Qualifications
- You must have a Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in a professional setting, or an Associate degree and five years of experience, or a High School Diploma and seven years of experience.
- You must have a minimum of one year of transcription experience in the required language.
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- You may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with management and law enforcement personnel.
Clearance and Security Requirements
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
- You must pass a background investigation, medical, and drug screen.
Estimated Salary Range
$63,000 - $83,000 per year.
