Responsibilities:- Assess and care for patients with a wide range of physical and psychological diagnoses and treatment modalities.
- Insert and maintain peripheral lines, and maintain central lines for administration of intravenous fluid.
- Provide emergency care as indicated, and administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenously) and blood products.
- Verify physician orders, and complete and accurate documentation of care according to facility/unit policies.
- Perform phlebotomy and bedside testing, and provide psychological support to patients as indicated.
- Care for patients requiring special precautions such as isolation, and maintain complex wound dressing care and maintenance.
- A minimum of 3 years current experience in an acute care, medical/surgical unit in an urban, academic Medical Center setting.
- A graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or in a related field, or a master's degree in Nursing or in a related field is highly preferred.
- An unrestricted registered nurse license from any state (United States).
- A competitive salary of $57.50 per hour.
- Vacation time, federal holidays, and sick days.
